The music world is mourning the loss of singer Lauren Bennett.

The news was confirmed by her former group G.R.L., who paid tribute to her in an emotional statement. The members wrote:

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRLs Em, Tash, and P.”

Lauren Bennett first rose to prominence as a member of the Paradiso Girls before launching a solo career and collaborating with artists such as CeeLo Green and will.i.am. She went on to achieve international fame after providing vocals for LMFAO’s global smash hit Party Rock Anthem, which topped charts around the world in 2011.

She was 37 years old.
